Getting started with fish

I had used bash for several years. But I felt I couldn’t finish some tasks efficiently sometimes. This was the main motivation to start using fish for me.

Fish is a great shell. I believe the biggest advantages for fish are strong auto suggestions for commands, a plugin manager, and UI suggestion.

Install fish and fisherman, which is a plugin manager for fish.

Change the default shell to fish

fzf: fuzzy finder. This increases the productivity drastically.

fish-ghq: the ghq plugin for fish

I use reverse-i-search to type a command from a common history a lot.

And at first, we can’t run kill-line on ctrl-k on fzf finder. To enable this, we need to add option in config.fish .
