How I Long to See Her Again

Moving to a new country and studying in a new environment, what can be the most inconceivable difficulty? Major courses? GPA? Honors? Social circle? NO! For me, the only anxiety I’ve had so far is that I will not see my girlfriend for a long time. How can I be happy for a day without seeing the pretty face that had been with me for the past six years. Nothing matters more to me than this.

It all started in junior high, I was just a boy, a little boy trying to achieve his parents’ expectation of him getting into a world famous university. Little did he know, in the mist of hard work, he is about to meet his love. Luckily I recorded every details that has created such a unique bond between us.

My dairy consisted of mostly boring tasks, strict teachers and the same old feeling of school life until the day I met her. I saw the girl talking to someone at the doorway of our classroom with a sweet smile on her face, I thought that is one beautiful and lovely face. I don’t know how to describe the feeling about my first time seeing her, but I do remember my heart started beating faster, my palm became sweaty and all I could think of is how do I find the chance to talk to her.

Fortunately, my dreadful teacher whom I started to like saved my trouble. She assigned her to work with me in a school concert. I found her sitting right across me and I bravely walked across the room and sat down in the empty seat next to her. Trying to cover up my fondness for her, I talked to her about several school related topics while we were rehearsing in the instrument room. Through my unremitting efforts and some agreeable time, we got to know more about each other and we fell in love. Experienced a lot of difficulties, however, we have kept a wonderful and stable relationship in the absence of any quarrel until now.

Nevertheless, our distance put a lot of pressure on us when I went abroad to go to college, always having to figure out the time (now there’s a 16-hour time difference between here and China) to keep in touch with each other. I would miss her and worry about her if I cannot get a reply from her, though at some point I know she’s fine and everything’s all right. Hence, I try my best to make interesting topics and listen to everything she says, just like I am with her and having a face-to-face talk. The tacit agreement having set up, I send her some pictures about surrounding sceneries and my campus life, and enjoy staring at her photos with great passion. Besides, regular “Morning!” and “Good night” are absolutely necessary because I must let her know that maybe I’m not by her side, however, I would help her whenever she needs me.

I truly believe as long as you really like someone, distance does not matter. It is merely an obstacle that will make our bond even stronger. I am looking forward to face this challenge with confidence, and I’ll never give up, for I know the day I leave the college would be the day I go to embrace her.
